New payment transaction regulations – Verification of Payee – from October 2025

Starting October 9, 2025, new payment transaction regulations—Verification of Payee—will come into effect.

For SEPA transfers, real-time transfers, standing orders, and scheduled transfers, the name of the payee will be verified by the bank.
This means that the recipient information provided in the transfer must match the data stored at the bank.
