Initial situation / challenge
The customer required separation stations for separating injection-molded products with cavity-specific placement. The removal process was to be carried out manually and nest-specific directly into bags or boxes.
Industry: Meditec / Oral care
Key requirements were:
- Error-free product buffering and reliable handover to the operator
- Provision of sample shots from all cavities for quality assurance
- Reliable separation and removal of sprues and reject parts
- Clear traceability of each part to its respective injection molding cavity
In addition, the available installation space was extremely limited. At the same time, the parts had to be provided to the operator ergonomically across multiple levels. Particularly with up to 64 cavities, preventing part mix-ups represented a critical challenge — especially in view of the strict quality and documentation requirements of the medical technology industry.
Solution / Implementation
The developed separation station guides the products through individually assigned guide tubes directly into the corresponding containers. This ensures a clearly defined and process-reliable part flow.
- Cavity-specific separation through dedicated guidance of each individual product
- Design engineered to prevent part jamming or accumulation
- Separate discharge of sample shots and non-conforming (NOK) parts
- Protective enclosure providing a secure interface between the injection molding machine and the handling system
- Compact design combined with excellent accessibility for maintenance
- System design can be adapted to multilingual operating and labeling concepts with minimal effort
Result for the customer
The solution enables complete traceability of each product back to its respective injection molding cavity.
The customer benefits from:
- Highest process reliability
- Significantly reduced risk of errors (no part mixing or blockages)
- Ergonomically optimized part removal despite limited installation space
- Simplified quality assurance
- Flexible usability in international production environments
